Lock 2 Lock work with the CIty of London
Police to reduce bike theft

The City of London CDRP (Crime & Disorder Reduction
Partnership) is the latest organisation to officially support the
Lock-2-Lock (L2L) national security scheme. The CDRP is a
partnership of organisations, including the City of London
Corporation, City of London Police and London Fire Brigade that
creates and develops initiatives to prevent and reduce crime and
disorder within our communities. “One of our responsibilities is to
develop and initiate ideas for the reduction of bike crime. The
Lock2Lock scheme is an effective way to help fight motorcycle theft
and makes for safer parking of Bikes within the City of London.” Ron

London CDRP and L2L are partnering to promote safer parking of
Motorcycles within areas of the City of London in order to reduce
Bike theft. The promotion of the L2L motorcycle security scheme will
take place between 21st July and the 4th August in a number of bike
theft hotspots around Finsbury Circus, Temple and the Tower of
London. During this promotion the City of London CDRP and L2L will
be demonstrating the scheme and providing Lock-2-Lock stickers to
riders.

Lock 2 Lock forms partnership with the ACU |

The Auto-Cycle Union Limited, founded in 1903, is the National
Governing Body for motorcycle sport throughout Britain. It is
recognised by the Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM)
and was a founder member of this body back in 1904 http://www.acu.org.uk
Gary Thompson, General Secretary, ACU, states, “the ACU
contributes to, and is involved in the wider world of motorcycling
and are pleased to be the latest organisation to formerly support
the national Lock2Lock scheme on a long-term basis.” With 33,000 ACU
members, Gary sees the Lock2Lock scheme as being significant for
motorcycling in general, as well as for its members who ride on the
road.
The Lock-2-Lock team believe “that the addition of the ACU as a
long term partner is another great step towards the long term vision
of the scheme and the benefits to the motorcycling community in the
fight against bike theft."

Motorcycle Action Group is the latest organisation to officially
endorse the Lock-2-Lock national security scheme. MAG's public
relations director, Trevor Baird welcomed the scheme "as having a
long term importance in the fight against motorcycle theft." MAG
will be working to help promote the scheme in various ways.
MAG supports the L2L scheme as a welcome deterrent against the
continuing problem of motorcycle and scooter theft. The L2L scheme
cleverly embraces the motorcycling community's spirit of self-help.
MAG supports the L2L scheme as part of its on-going commitment to
anti-theft campaigning.
